DELAY IDENT. PARAMETER ADJUSTMENT
The machine's mechanical structure might vibrate during the welding stage, when current
flows, further to the current's electrodynamic action. Vibrations induced by the current flow do
not stop immediately when current stops flowing but might require a certain amount of time to
lessen. Said time depends on the resilience of the spot welder structure. The execution of the
measurement of a coordinate during this transient phase might be altered by the vibrations
induced in the structure. Therefore, depending on each structure, a minimum delay should be
set to execute coordinates measurements in static type situations.
How to determine the minimum wait time before executing the measurement:
1) Configure the linear position sensor for use.
2) Set parameter DELAY IDENT. to ZERO.
3) Go to the PROGRAM DATA menu: set parameter QUALITY - T to ZERO in the weld
program.
Weld a short circuited spot to zero the coordinate (electrodes with no
material in between)
.
4) Go to the PROGRAM DATA menu: set parameter QUALITY - T to IDENT. in the
weld program.
5)
Weld a short circuited spot and observe the measurement of the IDENTATION
displayed on the TE550 control unit at the end of the weld.
PRG 005 SPOT 01234
THICKNESS 00.000 mm
IDENTATION 0.000 mm
If the IDENTATION value is zero even after several weld spots, the set delay is correct.
6)
If the displayed indentation value does not remain constant on executing a
number of welds, return to the THICKNESS SENSOR menu and increase the
DELAY IDENT.
parameter
.
7) Repeat a few welds as specified in step 6.
