Battery support mode, for engine tuning or diagnosis
: A fixed
13.6V is delivered, with up to 8 Amps of current available. Can be
activated during STEPS 2, 7, 8, 9 and 10, but only if the battery voltage
measures 13.3V (90%) or higher. Press button for 3 seconds until LED
#1b and LED #6 light together.
LED #6 = power draw is normal. LED #7 = max. power draw has been
reached.
LED #8 warns power draw exceeded maximum &
powersupply is off.
Program will revert to STEP 4.

During the test:
OPTIMIZE minimum charge time is set according to the test result,
varying between 10 minutes for a battery with 80% or higher state of
charge to 120 minutes for a battery with 40% or less state of charge.
safeTº:
Ambient temperature is measured to determine charge
current parameters.
Charging commences after 10 seconds.
If the temperature is below -20ºC/-4°F no charging will be
allowed.

IMPORTANT: If this mode engages read the section
VERY FLAT
NEGLECTED BATTERIES
on the preceding page.
This mode engages
if the battery was more than 90% discharged /
voltage is below 12.8V.
VERY LOW VOLTAGE SAVE for batteries between 0.6V and 8.8V:
Current starts at 125mA and will increase to 325mA depending on
charge progress. If the voltage did not rise above 8.8V within 2 hours,
charging will be suspended and the TEST LED #8 (red) will flash,
indicating the battery may have suffered permanent damage or a
professional assessment is required.
LOW VOLTAGE SAVE for batteries between 8.9V and 12.8V:
Maximum current is set to 1.25A. The battery's charge acceptance is
monitored for unusual behaviour. A healthy LiFePO
4
battery will
progress to CHARGE mode within 4 hours, otherwise charging will be
suspended and TEST LED #8 (red) will flash, indicating the battery may
have suffered permanent damage or a professional assessment is
required.
ERROR, BMS not resetting:
LED #3 lights briefly and then turns off:
A deep discharged battery may not hold sufficient voltage to power its
own BMS system. The charger will attempt to automatically reset the
BMS and continue with STEP4.
If not, use the
MANUAL RESET: place and hold finger on BMS reset
button for 10 or more seconds, until the program continues with STEP 4.
