Position the drive in either the horizontal or vertical position. Make sure the
rubber feet are down.
CAUTION: All units are equipped with a fan exhaust
vent. Make sure the drive is positioned to provide
unobstructed ventilation; otherwise, the drive may
overheat.
Installing the Cabling and Terminator
1.
Install the external SCSI cable
on the host adapter SCSI port
at the back of the computer.
2.
Install the other end of the
external SCSI cable on one of
the SCSI connectors on the
QIC drive.
3.
If the drive is the last device
on the SCSI bus, install a
terminator on the remaining
SCSI connector on the QIC
drive.
NOTE: If this is not the last device on the SCSI bus, refer to “About SCSI Bus
Termination” in Appendix A to determine how to terminate the SCSI bus.
4.
Install an AC line cord between the tape drive and a source of AC power
(wall outlet).
