Setting SCSI Bus Termination and SCSI Bus Termination Power
Configure the SCSI bus termination and termination power only after
determining the proper configuration (refer to “About SCSI Bus Termination” on
page 24).
Resistor packs RN1, RN2 and RN3 (refer to Figure 9 on page 30) provide SCSI
bus termination for the drive. The first device and the last device on the SCSI bus
must be terminated. If this is not the last device on the SCSI bus, remove these
terminators by carefully prying them up and out using a flat-blade screwdriver.
Keep the devices for possible later use.
Termination power can be supplied either by the drive or by the host. When
jumper E1 on the underside of the drive (refer to Figure 9) is installed,
termination power is supplied by the drive. When jumper E1 is not installed,
