2. Check if air flows from the rear fan?
YES:

Proceed with step 3.
NO:

From serial port HyperTerminal session, select fct command.

If fan remains off, replace rear fan.
3. Check if the Error LED lights red.
NO:

Proceed with step 4.
YES:
n
Note and record error code on OCP. Look up error code.
n
Follow Actions listed for that error code.
n
If autoloader or drive problem cannot be resolved, replace autoloader.
4. Check if there is a problem with the BCR.
NO:

Proceed with step 5.
YES:

Perform the BCR Analysis Procedure (see BCR Analysis on page 58.

If BCR is not functioning properly, replace the BCR.
5. Check i f there is a problem with the RMU.
NO:

Proceed with step 6.
YES:

Perform the RMU Analysis Procedure (see RMU Analysis on page 57).

If RMU is not functioning properly, replace the RMU.
6. Check if there is an obvious problem.
NO:

Proceed with step 7.
YES:

If Cartridge will not unload from drive (see Media-Related Problems on page 5 8).

If there is a broken autoloader part, replace the autoloader.
7. Check if the host has reported an autoloader or drive problem
