6300 Series Maintenance Manual

4.12 Installing the Platen Motor and Sensor PCA

With the assembly in-hand, turn the motor shaft so that it is aligned as in the

“pictogram” just to

the left of the shaft.

Insert the assembly through the side frame of the printer and install and tighten the

mounting screws.

Reach through the opening at the back of the side frame and move the platen to a

“full open” position.

Holding the platen fully open and ensuring the motor shaft is still aligned, tighten the

set-screw that mounts the platen to the motor shaft.

Connect the cables.

Power the printer up then run the “Platen” function (Engine Cal –

Platen) which

calibrates the platen sensor to the platen motor. You can monitor the progress on the

display of the printer.
