Sentinel Pro Ground Wiring (for Rack-mounted Units)
The Sentinel Pro is connected to the ground through the AC outlet. In addition,
rack-mounted Sentinel Pro units require ground wiring to the rack chassis.
This section describes how to connect the ground wire to a Sentinel Pro unit in the
unit’s rear panel (
Figure 13 ). For instructions on how to ground the customer-supplied
rack, see the relevant documentation of the rack manufacturer.

The Need for Grounding
Proper system grounding is critical to reliable system operation. To ensure adequate
protection from interference by radio frequency energy, electrical impulse noise, and
lightening or power line surge, the building electrical ground point must comply with
grounding recommendations of the National Area Code, Article 800, and/or
applicable local building and electrical codes.
