Installing the Bottom Stack

Place the bottom stack assembly back onto the securing posts. Make certain that the proper stack spacer
is on top of the lower heat sink, Vespel for high temperature testing and Copper for sub-ambient testing.

Carefully plug the 3 thermocouples into the connectors. Be certain that the proper thermocouple is
connected to each female plug on the instrument.

Plug in the bottom heater connector.

Make sure that all bottom stack components are correctly aligned.

Place a clean sample onto the bottom stack surface.

Replace the two screws directly under the bottom stack, but do not tighten them. Slowly lower the top
stack to apply pressure to the bottom stack. Make sure that the bottom stack is correctly aligned and
proper contact between all surfaces is maintained. If a problem is found, release the pressure to the
bottom stack.

Replace screws.

Tighten the screws, making sure that pressure remains on the bottom stack.

Raise the top stack and remove the samples.
