Operating the DTC-300
Using the DTC-300
All of your DTC-300 experiments will have the following general outline. In some cases, not all of these
steps will be performed.
•
Preparing the sample
•
Loading the sample
•
Starting the analysis
To obtain accurate results, follow these procedures carefully.
Before You Begin
Before you set up an experiment, ensure that the DTC-300 system has been installed properly. Make sure
you have:
•
Connected all coolant and pneumatic/purge gas lines
•
Connected the communication cables from the rear of the instrument to the control computer
•
Powered up the unit
•
Become familiar with instrument operations
•
Become familiar with the software
Startup and Shutdown Procedures
Starting the DTC-300 System
The power switch is located on the back panel of the DTC-300. The power switch is used to turn the DTC-
300 system on and off.
To power on the system:

Check that the power cord is plugged into the
MAIN POWER
socket on the real panel of the DTC-300
and connected to an electrical outlet in accordance with the electrical ratings on the back panel of the
instrument.

Set the
HEATER POWER
switch on the front panel to the OFF (
0
) position.

Set the DTC-300
MAIN POWER
switch to the ON

)
position.

The temperature controllers on the front panel indicate that main power to the instrument is active.
