STANDARDS

Noise

Measurement in accordance with the standard

EN 500-4 Rev. 1:1998, Annex C:

Measurement uncertainty ± 0.5 dB (A) in 95% of the

measurements.

In accordance with the conditions in

Directive 2000/14/EC, Annex VI, the following values are

reported:

F82B

F92B

Sound pressure level at operator’s ears, LpA

90 (A) LpA

Permitted sound power level, L

WA

105 dB (A)

Guaranteed sound power level, L

WA

105 dB (A)

As the sound pressure level at the operator’s ears exceeds

80 dB (A), ear protectors must be used during operation!

Hand/arm vibrations

The vibration acceleration was measured in accordance

with the ISO 5349 standard during operation on a

graveled surface.

The measurement values were translated into the

maximum daily exposure time for regular usage.

For additional information about vibrations, please

confer the regulation AFS 2005:15 from the Swedish Work

Environment Authority, effective July 1st 2005.

Measurement uncertainty ± 0.3 m/s2  in 95% of the

measurements.

REFERENCE INFORMATION

HONDA DC power unit GXE2.0H

FOR MACHINE MANUFACTURERS

I

n order to comply with ”ISO 13849-1” required in the

region, the following is described.

Only the information that must be included in the

owner’s manual is described here. Therefore, some of the

information required to assemble the DC power unit into

the equipment is included, and not all the information is

provided.

FOR YOUR INFORMATION ON DC POWER UNIT

ATTACHMENT

DC power unit safety functions include a function*1 to

safely turn off torque to the motor when a stop signal is

sent from the START/STOP switch and a function*2 to turn

off torque to the motor when a contact malfunction is

detected at the START/STOP switch.

The torque to the motor is turned off within 500 ms after

the stop signal is input from the START/STOP switch or a

malfunction is detected at the START/STOP switch.

*1 This function certainly stops the motor by a stop signal

sent from the START/STOP switch

*2 This function prevents the motor from starting

unintentionally

When you use the safety function, always conduct an

equipment risk assessment and make sure that the

safety function shown below meets PL required for the

equipment.

Explanation of terminology

Cat.

Classification of the safety-related parts of a control

system in respect of their resistance to faults and their

subsequent behaviour in the fault condition, and which is

achieved by the structural arrangement of the parts, fault

detection and/or by their reliability.

DC avg

Measure of the effectiveness of diagnostics, which may

be determined as the ratio between the failure rate of

detected dangerous failures and the failure rate of total

dangerous failures.

PL

For the purposes of this part of ISO 13849, the ability

of safety-related parts to perform a safety function is

expressed through the determination of the performance

level.

MTTFd

Expectation of the mean time to dangerous failure.
