LOWER UNIT 8-9

REPLACING DRIVESHAFT OIL SEAL

1. Remove the oil seal using special tools.
2. Apply the Water Resistant Grease to outer circumference of

the oil seal.

3. Drive the oil seals down into the housing with lipped portion

toward the water pump case. (one at a time)

4. Apply the Water Resistant Grease to the seal lips.



Inspect the driveshaft. If wear, twist or other damage is found on
the splines, replace the driveshaft.
