1-3 Server Chassis Features
The following is a general outline of the main features of the SC818A-1400B server
chassis.
System Power
The SC818A-1400B features a 1400W high-effi ciency power supply with I

must be removed from the system before servicing or replacing the power supply.
SATA Subsystem
The SC818A-1400B chassis was designed to support three SATA drives, which
are hot-swappable units.
Front Control Panel
The control panel on the SuperServer 8016B-TLF provides you with system monitor-
ing and control. LEDs indicate system power, HDD activity, network activity, system
overheat and power supply failure. A main power button and a system reset button
are also included. In addition, two USB ports and a COM port have been incorpo-
rated into the front of the chassis for convenient access.
Cooling System
The SC818A-1400B chassis has an innovative cooling design that includes seven
4-cm fans located in the middle section of the chassis. The power supply module
also includes a cooling fan. All chassis and power supply fans operate continu-
ously. An air shroud channels the airfl ow from the system fans to effi ciently cool
the processors and memory.
