6.4.2 Blower Motor Replacement
1.
Remove power from the flowbench.
2. Remove the front and side panels to gain
access.
3. Disconnect the motor wiring connections at the
VFD.
4. Remove the motor wiring seal tight connection
at the VFD.
5. Remove the belt guard using a 1/2 inch socket.
6. Using a 9/16 inch box-end wrench, rotate the
belt tensioner arm counter clockwise (CCW) and remove the belt.
7. Use a ¾ inch deep socket or similar device to stop and hold the motor pulley from spinning. Then use a
5/16 inch allen socket to remove the motor pulley screws and pulley.
8. Using a 7/32 inch allen wrench, remove the bushing set screw.
9.
Using a 5/16 inch allen socket, remove the two bushing screws and then slide bushing off the motor
shaft.
10. Mark the current location of the ¾ inch bolts securing the motor to the blower bracket. The new motor
should be re-installed in the same location.
11. Before removing the ¾ inch bolts securing the motor to the blower bracket, suspend or block the blower
bracket so it does not drop. This will help when removing motor by removing tension.
12. Using a ¾ inch deep socket, remove the bolts
securing the motor to blower bracket.
13. Using a ¾ inch deep socket, remove the bolts
securing the motor to the frame.
14. Using proper lifting aids, carefully remove the

16. Install wiring harness and properly connect motor wires onto the new motor.
17. Using proper lifting aids, carefully install motor.
18. Using a ¾ inch deep socket, secure motor to frame and blower bracket, ensuring it is in the location
marked in step 10.
19. Once motor has installed, remove blower bracket supporting
device installed in step 11.
20. Install the motor wiring seal tight connection at the VFD.
21. Reconnect the motor wiring connections at the VFD.
22. Verify the motors direction of rotation is correct. Rotation should
be checked with the drive belt removed from the blower.
23.
With direction of rotation verified, slide bushing onto motor shaft.
When working with electrical or
electronic controls, make sure that
the power source has been locked
out and tagged out according to
OSHA regulations and approved
local electrical codes.
Only qualified personnel should
perform motor wiring. Review motor
