SECTION 3: SYSTEM SETUP

3.6 Powering on the system for the first time

Powering on the system for the first time includes steps to perform the initial recorder configuration and verify system functionality.
When performing this procedure, refer to the following documents for more information:

ASK-4 #101 Audio Monitoring System Installation and Operating Instructions

During the initial startup of the recorder, the configuration Wizard is executed. This Wizard provides windows for performing the
initial configuration of your system, including changing the administrator password (highly recommended), setting the network
parameters, adding IP cameras to the system and other options. Use the instructions below to customize your system for your
location.

NOTE

Important note about changing your Admin password

After changing the administrator password of the system, an option is available to save a

GUID file

. This file can be used to reset

the Admin password of the system if you forget your password, and should be saved on a USB flash media drive and stored in a
secure location.

1.

Plug the power adapter for the audio system base station into the UPS, and then power on the base station.

2.

Plug the power adapter for the camera into the UPS.

3.

Plug the monitor into the UPS, and then power it on.

Check the configuration of the monitor to verify that it is using the interface you chose to connect to the recorder.

4.

Plug the recorder into the UPS, and then power it on using the switch on the back panel near the power cord.

Verify that within 2 minutes, the ALIBI splash screen is displayed on the monitor.
