About Power Supplies

A central power distribution board delivers DC power to all internal system
components. The system’s power supplies plug in to connectors on this board, and
all of the supplies installed share equally in satisfying the power demands of the
system.

Sun Fire 880 power supplies are modular units, designed for fast, easy installation or
removal, even while the system is fully operational. Power supplies are installed in
bays at the rear of the system, as shown in the following figure.
