TROUbLESHOOTING
7.1
COMPRESSOR WILL NOT START
CAUSE
REMEDY
Main disconnect switch open.
Close switch.
Line fuse(s) blown.
Replace fuse(s).
Control circuit breaker tripped.
Reset breaker.
Motor starter overload tripped.
Reset motor starter overload.
If machine still will not start, check sizing and adjustment of
overloads.
Also check motor starter contacts for pitting.
Low incoming line voltage.
Check all voltages. If voltage is low or imbalanced, consult
power company.
Open compressor discharge temperature
(CDT) sensor.
Replace CDT sensor.
Defective control relay.
Replace control relay.
Power failure.
Refer to 5.6 Restarts.
Unit filled with oil.
Inlet valve is leaking. Replace inlet valve.
Unit failure.
Replace unit.
7.2
MACHINE WILL NOT bUILD UP FULL DISCHARGE PRESSURE
CAUSE
REMEDY
Air demand is too great.
Repair system air leaks. Add compressor capacity to satisfy
demand.
Dirty air filter.
Clean or change element as required.
Pressure regulating valve out of
adjustment.
Adjust valve by loosening lock nut and turning screw in half
to a full turn.
Defective pressure regulating valve.
Check diaphragm and replace if necessary.
Solenoid valve open.
Repair or replace solenoid valve.
Faulty receiver pressure transducer (P1).
Replace pressure transducer (P1).
