First Flight
Have you secured your pull/pull crimps with thin CA? If not do not due this now.
For your initial flight, balance aircraft 1” behind main spar. For more advanced maneuvers you may slowly
move the CG back. I find that the optimal CG location is located at the aft edge of the servo pockets or 1.5” from
the CENTER of the main spar. There is NO advantage to moving the CG further aft then 1.5” In-fact an
excessively aft CG will hurt the flying performance of this aircraft – inducing excessive pitch to gear in slip and
causes pitch up when inverted. In short 1.25”-1.5” aft of the spar center is just about perfect for both 3D and
pattern performance.
Sight along wings and tail surfaced and remove warps if found.
Set control surface throws. We recommend:
Low rates
Suggested 30% exponential
Elevator 20 deg.
Ailerons 15 deg.
Rudder 45 deg.
High Rates
Suggested 80% exponential
Elevator 60 deg.
Ailerons 30 deg.
Rudder 45 deg.
Choose a calm day for your maiden trim flight!
Slowly advance throttle – within a few feet you will be airborne.
The G-400x slows down nicely for landings; however, make your first landings with slight power-on until you are
familiar with the aircraft’s stall.
