I. INTAKE AIR
Step 1: Remove 4 screws that hold collar plate in place.
Refer to Figure 8J.1
Step 2: Slide collar plate off fireplace.

Step 4: Re-attach the plate with four screws.
Refer to Figure 8J.4
Step 3: Turn plate so collar is facing down, slide plate into slots on each side.

J. CHANGING FROM SIDE INTAKE AIR TO BOTTOM INTAKE AIR
This fireplace has options of air intake connections on the side and the bottom of the fireplace. Use chart on Page 15 to determine which size outside
metal pipe you should use for your fireplace. Connect only to metal intake pipe or Stellar Hearth approved flexible pipe. Insulate all exposed pipe
against cold air/frost. The intake pipe must maintain 1.5X the square inches of the flue pipe in free area. Intake screen/vent must be sized appropri

ately. Failure to do so will result in higher operating temperatures.
The fireplace may also take room air for combustion. Intake screen/vent must be sized appropriately. You must plan for the replacement air that is
consumed from the room by the fireplace.
Use the table below for reference on CFM replacement air if drawing air from inside the house and open air requirements for intake screen/vent,
or consult Stellar Hearth directly for more information.
