9 Parameterization and Commissioning
Before commissioning, ensure the following:
• Installation of the device according to regulations.
• Correct connection of the cables.
• No damage at the device and connection cables.
• Tight seat of the screws at the terminals.
Correct tightening torque: 0.5 ... 0.6 Nm.
9.1 Compensation for 2-Wire Resistance Temperature Detector
• Configure TIM 9482, set channel to "2 conductors (R in Ω)" and start remote I/O
(green "RUN" LED at I/O module = ON).
• Short-circuit the sensor to the connection cable of the channel to be adjusted near the
sensor for approx. 10 seconds (min. 6, max. 14 sec.).
• During the compensation, make sure that there is a low-resistance short-circuit at the
cable end (line resistance lower than 15 Ω and diagnostics indicate a short circuit).
• In case of a short-circuit at both ends, check the correct function of the measuring
point. If a signal error is indicated on the I/O module (red "ERR" LED on the I/O module
= ON) and "Error 2-wire compensation failed" is signalled in the automation system,
the 2-wire compensation has not been completed correctly.
• Perform a new compensation.
Compensation for Pt100 GOST, M50 GOST, M100 GOST, Cu53 GOST, Pt46 GOST,
Pt50 GOST and resistance measurement
• First, set it to Pt1000, then carry out a compensation and set it back to the desired
sensor. A value determined once for the line resistance of 2-wire systems is stored for
each channel.
