Technical Data

Manual Disinfection

The goal of disinfection is reduce the bioburden to a level so that the sterilization process will reach a
SAL of 10

Equipment:

- Cidex™ OPA

(Orthophthalaldehyde (OPA)-based disinfection solution)

- Demineralized water

Instructions:

1. Visually inspect the Patient Cable Model EX3150 for any trace of soil and repeat

Cleaning

if necessary.

2. Immerse the patient cable in Cidex OPA solution for 12 minutes according to the

manufacturer’s instructions.

3. Rinse the patient cable thoroughly in lukewarm demineralized water for at least one

minute or until no visual signs of the solution is left on the cable.

4. Wipe dry with a lint-free cloth.

Note

•

Do not exceed 30 minutes of ultrasonic cleaning.

•

The ultrasound must achieve a minimum of 35 kHz.

•

The temperature of the cleaning solution should not exceed

35°C.

•

Make sure no residues of soil can be seen on the cable.

•

Do not exceed concentration recommended by the

manufacturer of the detergent.

•

Follow the detergent’s instruction for use to optimize cleaning

efficiency.

•

After rinsing, ensure that no visible residue of detergent is left.

8. St. Jude Medical has validated the following challenge parameters for disinfection efficiency: Cidex OPA solution

delivered ready for use, OPA 0.55%, 20°C +/-2°C. Immerse cold demineralized water one min.
