1. Switch from Normal to Alignment mode. See Table 1-2 for LED status
indication.
2. Switch from Alignment to Standby mode. The LEDs will blink alternately with
a green color.
3. Switch from Standby to Calibration mode. The LEDs will turn off.
4. Wait up to 60 seconds until it switches to Normal mode (right LED green) The
detector reading is now set to normal. The 4-20mA output should indicate
4mA.
3. 6. Calibration Check of Unit
The SafEye system has been calibrated at the factory for the User's specific gas or
vapor detection requirements. This procedure validates the pre-set calibration.
Notes:
1. This Calibration verification procedure is for a standard 4-20 mA output.
2. Turn off all alarms that are attached to the units being calibrated.
3. Prior to starting the Calibration check, Verify that the power to the units is on
and that the current of the 4-20 mA channel is Stable. Record the reading.
1. Locate the Calibration Filter in front of the Detector unit.
2. The calibration Filter's window must be centered over the viewing window of the
Detector.
3. Wait 20 seconds.
4. Read the 4-20 mA current. Determine the difference between the reading taken
with and without the Calibration Filter. This difference is the 4-20 mA Current
variance.
A.
Record the 4-20mA current variance in the Maintenance Log Book. If the variance is
more than 30% change compared to the previous alignment (see delivery form), repeat
the alignment.
