the start (
11
) button. When the load to reset has been re-applied
(which may be a fairly rapid event due to the fact that the work
components have probably already been fully compressed), press the
stop button (
12
). Whilst the re-applied load is being released as
indicated by the display screen message (
4
) and as oil is draining back
into the press oil reservoir, trying turning the lead screw handle (
9
)
anticlockwise now to loosen the components involved in the pressing
process. If a slight movement downwards of the piston can be
achieved, the trapped work can be released.
No Sample in the Pressing Area
If the press is operated with no sample in the pressing area (
6
), the
piston will continue moving until it reaches the limit of its travel, unless
aborted by pressing the stop button (
12
). (See Piston Travel – page
38).
The load indicated at the limit of the pistons travel point will be at
or near to any applied “
Pump up to
” load. A message “
Reached
Piston Limit!
” will be momentarily illuminated.
If the piston has been allowed to travel to its full limit because there
has been no sample in the pressing area, the piston
may not return
to
its natural start point/rest position in the time period for the retraction
event, for a further re-application of any load if the “
Reached Piston
Limit!
” message has been displayed. If this situation does occur, place
a block of unyielding metal as a ”sample” to press onto the piston
surface and bring the top lead screw anvil pressing face (
10
) to rest on
top of the sample block by turning the lead screw (
8
) accordingly.
When the metal block sample is carefully positioned and the front
safety guard is closed, press the start button (
11
) to set
any
pressing
program in action.
When the “
Load Rising
” message is seen on the
(
MOS
) (see example page 30),
press the stop button (
12
) and the load
will be released and allow the piston to retract. The stop button (
12
)
may need to be pressed again before the (
ok
) condition status
changes to the (
OK
) status to allow the piston to retract further to its
original start position.
Note:
If at all possible avoid running the piston to the limit of its
travel.
