Troubleshooting
USB
An error occurs while using the USB function.
If you connect an unsupported USB device, the
following problems may occur. For details on the
compatible USB devices, refer to the customer
support site of Sony Europe,
http://www.sony-europe.com/
The USB device is not recognized.
File or folder names are not displayed on the unit.
Playback is not possible.
The sound skips.
There is noise.
A distorted sound is output.
Transferring or recording stops before it is
finished.
“Detected an abnormal condition at the USB
port. Please disconnect.” appears.
The
(USB) connector may be malfunctioning, or
the unit may be suffering from strong electrical noise
caused by power supply abnormalities due to being
dropped, excessive static electricity, or lightning.
In this case, disconnect the power cord of the main
unit and the remote control charger, wait about 30
seconds, reconnect them, and then connect the USB
device.
The USB device is not recognized.
Reconnect the USB device.
Connect the supported USB device.
The USB device does not work properly. Refer to the
operating manual of the USB device for how to deal
with this problem. If the problem persists, contact
your nearest Sony dealer.
The unit cannot start transferring/recording
audio data to a USB device.
The following problems may have occurred.
The USB device is full. Erase unnecessary data
from the USB device (page 44).
The number of tracks and folders on the USB
device has reached the upper limit. Erase
unnecessary data from the USB device (page 44).
The USB device is write-protected.
Excess current has been detected.
In this case, disconnect the power cord of the main
unit and the remote control charger, wait about
30 seconds, reconnect them, and then connect the
USB device.
The unit stops the transfer/recording before it is
finished.
You are using an unsupported USB device.
The USB device is not formatted correctly. Refer
to the operating manual of the USB device for the
formatting operation.
Turn off the unit and disconnect the USB device. If
the USB device has a power switch, turn off the USB
device, and turn it on again after you disconnected it
from the unit. Then perform the transfer/recording
operation again.
If the transfer/recording and erase operations are
done repeatedly, the file structure within the USB
device becomes complex. Refer to the operating
manual of the USB device for how to deal with
this problem. If the problem persists, contact your
nearest Sony dealer.
Transfer, recording or erase operation stops
partway, and automatically changes to the CD
function.
When a disc is inserted, this unit will stop transfer,
recording, or erase operation.
Transferring/recording to a USB device results in
an error.
The USB device is full. Erase unnecessary data from
the USB device (page 44).
The number of tracks and folders on the USB device
has reached the upper limit. Erase unnecessary data
from the USB device (page 44).
You are using an unsupported USB device.
Turn off the unit and disconnect the USB device. If
the USB device has a power switch, turn off the USB
device, and turn it on again after you disconnected it
from the unit. Then perform the transfer/recording
operation again.
The USB device was disconnected or the power was
turned off during transfer/recording. Delete the
partially-transferred/recorded track. If this does not
solve the problem, the USB device may be damaged.
Refer to the operating manual of the USB device
for how to deal with this problem. If the problem
persists, contact your nearest Sony dealer.
