5-6-2. System Settings
FDDR-7000 CPU-253 board settings
Make a note of the original settings of the DIP switches, then change the settings as follows.

Set 1 on the S3 (SW1) DIP switch of the CPU-253 board to ON, and set the other bits to OFF.
.
Set 1 on the S301 (SW2) DIP switch of the CPU-253 board to ON, and set the other bits to OFF.
.
Set all bits on the S302 (SW3) DIP switch of the CPU-253 board to OFF.
Terminal software settings
Start the terminal software on the host computer and set the communications parameters as follows.
Example : When using the HyperTerminal accessory supplied with Windows-NT 4.0, set the parameters
as follows.
Under File
→
Properties
→
Connect to, make the following settings
(New Connection
→
Configure ...)
Bits per second
38400
Data bits
8
Parity
None
Stop bits
1
Flow control
None
Make the following settings in ASCII Setup under File
→
Properties
→
Settings.
Enable “Send line ends with line feeds”.
Enable “Echo typed characters locally”.
5-6-3. Starting the System
Power the FDDR-7000 system on.
After the FDDR-7000 system has started, start the host computer.
Starting the restoration tool
From Windows NT, execute the Restore\Restore.bat batch file on the FDDR-7000 Software Version 1.02
CD-ROM.
The restoration tool starts.
After about 3 minutes of preparations, a message appears in the terminal software of the host computer
asking for a BKFD-7009/7009A specification.
Specifying the BKFD-7009/7009A (HDD unit)
A message appears asking you to input the number of the BKFD-7009/7009A (displayed as “module” in
the restoration tool) to be restored.
“Which disk module was replaced ?”
Input the number (from 1 to 16) of the HDD unit.

Numbers 1 to 8 refer to the BKFD-7009/7009A installed in the FDDR-7000.
.
Numbers 9 to 12 refer to the BKFD-7009/7009A installed in a BKFD-7800 connected to EXT HDD 1.
.
Numbers 13 to 16 refer to the BKFD-7009/7009A installed in a BKFD-7800 connected to EXT HDD 2.
.
Number 17 refer to the BKFD-7009/7009A in a BKFD-7800 connected to SCSI (AUX).
