2-5. Installation and Removal of BKFD-
7009/7009A (HDD unit)

Before installing or removing the BKFD-7009/7009A, be
sure to refer to “2-4. Precautions on Installation and
Remove of BKFD-7009/7009A”.
2-5-1. FDDR-7000/7009A (Multi-channel
digital disk recorder)

Before powering off the FDDR-7000, it is necessary to
prepare for shutdown with the SHUTDOWN button. If you
simply turn the power switch off while recording or playback
is in progress, recorded material or system information may
be lost, and the system will not subsequently function
correctly.
When the BKFD-7800 (HDD extension box) is connected,
power on the BKFD-7800 first, and then the FDDR-7000.
Do not power on the host computer until after all
connected FARAD systems are powered on.
(1) Turn off the power switch.
(2) Remove the front panel. (Refer to “1. Front Panel” in
the section 1-5-1.)
(3) Connect the BKFD-7009/7009A to the connector on
the mother board by putting the lever in the direction
of the arrow

(4) Run the HDD initial set-up tool. (Refer to the section
5-4.)
(5) Remove the BKFD-7009/7009A in the reverse order
of the steps (1) through (3).
2-5-2. BKFD-7800 (HDD extension box)

Before powering off the BKFD-7800, it is necessary to
prepare for shutdown with the SHUTDOWN button of the
FDDR-7000 (Multi-channel digital disk recorder). If you
simply turn the power switch off while recording or
playback is in progress, recorded material or system
information may be lost, and the system will not subse-
quently function correctly.
When the BKFD-7800 is connected, power on the BKFD-
7800 first, and then the FDDR-7000. Do not power on the
host computer until after all connected FARAD systems
are powered on.
(1) Turn off the power switch.
(2) Remove the front panel. (Refer to “1. Front Panel” in
the section 1-5-2.)
(3) Connect the BKFD-7009/7009A to the connector on
the mother board by putting the lever in the direction
of the arrow

(4) Run the HDD initial set-up tool. (Refer to the section
5-4.)
(5) Remove the BKFD-7009/7009A in the reverse order
of the steps (1) through (3).
