Customizing measurement settings
Depending on the work order, differing measurement settings in the “Measurement” screen
may be required or useful for optimized analysis and evaluation of measurement data.
5.3.1
Setting the distance from the sound source
Description
For identification of sound sources with unknown origin, precise distance designation is not
essential.
For precise detection of an identified sound source, the distance from the sound source
must be set as accurately as possible. Values may be chosen within a range from 10 cm
to
≥
2000 cm.
For sound sources at a distance of more than 20
m, the maximum value (≥
2000 cm) must
always be set.
Procedure
1
In the
“Measurement” screen, tap the "Distance" icon.
2.
Set the required distance either by the slider or by directly entering it in the input field.

Setting scaling mode and dynamics
Description
The beam picture supports the detection, analysis and evaluation of sound signals. Scaling
mode and dynamics are used to determine the ratio between camera image and sound
signals in the beam picture.
Three different scaling modes are available to provide the selectivity required depending on
the quality of the received/recorded signals.
