Note
Radian has two mutually exclusive modes of operation. Once set, Radian will op-
erate in the same mode on each power-up. These modes of operation are:
Binary mode
. You must use the Radian Tool to use this mode.
ASCII telegram mode
. These are industry-standard telegrams, which can
be sent to other equipment.
The Radian Tool can operate in both of these modes. When operating in binary
(or display) mode, the Radian Tool can be configured to output many ASCII tel-
egrams to many ports.
When outputting multiple telegrams to multiple ports this may reduce the
update rate. Also, note that certain software packages cannot decode tele-
grams successfully when certain telegram combinations are output at the
same time.
Refer to section 7 “Data Output Formats” beginning on page 34 for a description
of the output telegrams and formats.

Close
to
return to the
Radian Tool
dialog, where you can select between the
Display
Mode
tab or the
Telegram Mode
tab.
