System key and device number
The system key and device number are used to identify the MRL-7 in a bus system. This is essential if
multiple devices (sensors and data loggers) are operated within the same system. While the system
key separates different conceptual bus systems, the device number provides a unique identification of
a device in a bus system.
Output moment (
The serial data output can be triggered by the options listed in
just per command
Data output is requested by commands from another data acquisition de-
vice.
measured automatic
Data are returned automatically after each measurement.
storage automatic
Data are returned after storage on the MRL-7.

Operation modes
The MRL-7 data logger can be configured to push measurement data to the RS-232 interface, or to
receive polling commands. See Section
8.15.2
RS-485 interface
The settings of the RS-485 port are listed in
Operation modes
The MRL-7 data logger can be configured to push measurement data to the RS-485 interface, or to
receive polling commands. See Section
8.15.3
Serial data output
The measurement values returned by the MRL-7 are formatted in a fixed sequence and are identified
by an index. The following list gives an example:

Output protocols
For data output over the serial interface different protocols are available, which can be selected under
