Setting up the node structure
Now that you have created a project, you need to set up the node structure to
reflect the structure of the site. Please refer to the specific DMS Installation
Configuration & Commissioning manual (ICC) (see About this document [➙ 7]).
The following describes the typical folders that you will want to set up, and tells you
what they will need to contain:
Communication network: Communication devices such as Cerloop network.
Fire protection units: Fire subsystems.
Intrusion protection units: Intrusion subsystems.
CCTV units: video subsystems.
Access Control: SiPass, DLCS.
Other units.
Note: Details for configuring the folder contents are discussed in the remainder of
this manual. Some product-specific components are included in the
corresponding Installation, Configuration, and Commissioning manual (ICC).
To define the structure of the new project, proceed as follows:
1. Select the main project node.
2. Click the Folder icon to add a folder.
3. Right-click the generic folder and select Rename.
4. Name the folder (for example,
Building A).
5. Repeat steps 2 - 4 until you are finished adding folders to define areas.
Note: Do not forget to assign meaningful names to the folders and icons along the
way to make navigation easier for yourself and the end-user.
