PROFIsafe

Required Standard software 

You need STEP 7 (TIA Portal) V14 or higher and a Hardware Support Package to configure 

the Extension Unit PROFINET and Extension Unit PROFIsafe: 

●

 

HSP_V<TIA version>_0209_001_SysComp_ExtUnit_1.0.isp<TIA version>  

for configuring the Extension Unit PROFINET 

●

 

HSP_V<TIA version>_0210_001_SysComp_ExtUnitPS_1.0.isp<TIA version>  

for configuring the Extension Unit PROFIsafe 

Hardware Support Packages can be found on the Internet at the following address:

You can find a description of the installation of a Hardware Support Package in the 

information system of the TIA Portal. 
The SIMATIC STEP 7 Safety optional package is required for installation of the Hardware 

Support Package for the Extension Unit PROFIsafe. 
The figures in the following sections correspond to STEP 7 (TIA Portal) V15 in combination 

with the respective HSP and may deviate from the display on your configuration PC in some 

detail.

Required Advanced software 

You need STEP 7 (TIA Portal) V14 or higher and a Hardware Support Package to configure 

Extension Unit PROFINET Advanced and Extension Unit PROFIsafe Advanced: 

●

 

HSP_V14_0221_001_SysComp_ComMod_1.0 for configuration of the Extension Unit 

PROFINET Advanced and PROFIsafe Advanced with Advanced operator controls (RGB 

illuminated pushbuttons, KP12) 

●

 

Additional HSP_Vxx are required for configuring standard operator controls and the 

emergency stop button (see section "Required standard software").
