Fitting of the brake and the couplings
6.9.1
Fitting the brake
When fitting the brake, the specific operating instructions for the brake must be
observed.
6.9.2
Fitting the couplings
When installing the couplings, the specific operating instructions for the couplings
must be observed.
Before beginning installation, the shaft ends and the coupling parts must be carefully cleaned.
Couplings must be pulled on with the aid of the centring thread on the shaft ends and secured against axial
shift.
Never use force or knock the couplings into position, as this will cause irreparable
damage to the gearwheels, antifriction bearings, retaining rings etc.
The couplings are aligned in accordance with the specific operating instructions for the couplings.

Onesided torque arm
In the case of a onesided torque arm, a ball and socket joint (see figure 8) or a flexible bush should be
provided.
The screwon surface of the torque arm on the gearunit housing must be degreased
and smeared with Loctite 640. This increases the reliability of the torque transmission
and protects against corrosion.

Gearunit connection
For a detailed view, refer to the drawings in the gearunit documentation.
If the complete torque-arm assembly is included in our scope of delivery, the attachment of the trestle to
the machine frame is specified in the dimensioned drawing (see gearunit documentation).
If attachment of the torque arm to the machine frame is carried out by the customer, distortion of the gear
unit must be avoided (e.g. by the use of doublejointed or elastic elements).
