General notes on maintenance
All maintenance and repair work must be carried out carefully and by qualified personnel only
(see section ”Qualified Personnel" on page 3 of this manual).
The following applies to all work in item 10.2:
WARNING
Serious risk of injury through switchedon installation
Stop the gear unit and any separate oilsupply unit to carry out maintenance and/or repair work or to
remove the protective equipment. Secure the drive unit against being switched on accidentally. Attach
a notice to the ON switch stating clearly that work is in progress on the gear unit.
WARNING
Risk of injury from live parts
The removal of covers, incorrect use of the system, incorrect operation or inadequate maintenance may
result in death, serious injury or material damage.
– When working on the system, always adhere to the "Five safety rules" (see section 3,
"Safety Instructions").
– Always remove covers strictly in accordance with these operating instructions.
– Operate the system correctly.
– Maintain the system regularly and correctly.
The periods indicated in table 17 largely depend on the conditions under which the gear unit is operated.
Only average periods can therefore be stated here. These refer to the following values:
Daily operating time:
24 h
Duty factor "ED":
100 %
Input speed:
1500 1/min
Operating temperature:

(applies to mineral oil / synthetic oil)
NOTICE
Material damage
Risk of damage to the gear unit through nonobservance of the periods specified for maintenance and
repair work.
The operator must adhere to the periods set out in table 17 and, if necessary, include them in its own
maintenance schedules.
