11.7 Service data
Service data is only exchanged between the control and IO-Link device via the IO-Link Master on request by the
control (acyclically). The service data is designated as ISDU's. ISDU's allow the user to read information about the
status of the connected IO-Link device and/or write new parameters to change the configuration.
The respective counterpart confirms receipt of the data.
If the IO-Link device does not answer within five seconds, the master reports a communication error.
