NOTE
To be able to unambiguously differentiate between the host device and the guest
device in an EFI system, one safety laser scanner must be configured as the guest.
b
To define the guest device, wire a jumper between pins 5 (ERR) and 6 (A1).
The jumper always defines the guest device. This jumper must not be fitted on the host
device.

Parameterization and diagnostics connection
A special service cable is available for the S3000 Cold Store (RS-232, prepared for ser‐
ial PC connection) for parameterization and extended diagnostics using a PC/laptop.
The connecting cables for the service cable are 5 m long.
In addition to the 9-pin D-Sub plug for serial connection to a PC, the service cable has a
separate supply cable with male connector for supplying the safety laser scanner with
power (does not include the supply of power to the heater). The supply voltage on the
application side is then fed through to the safety laser scanner.

NOTE
If the S3000 Cold Store is connected to a bus system using EFI (e.g., via sens:Control
products from SICK), you can also perform the configuration and diagnostics from out‐
side the cold store area over the bus system.
b
Always check the protective field at the system, machine or vehicle as per the test
notes in the operating instructions.
