(1) Bell Jar
Enclosure that covers the heating table.
It is used to evacuate the interior.
(2) Heating Table
This is where samples are placed.
It is heated approximately to the set temperature.
(3) O-Ring Seal
Maintains an airtight seal between the heating table and bell jar when
evacuating the bell jar.
(4) Selector Valve
Connected to the vacuum port (10) and leak port (8), which are located
on the back of the instrument.
The valve can be switched between the following modes:
[VACUUM]: Used to evacuate the air from inside the bell jar.
[CLOSE]: Used to maintain the pressure inside the bell jar at a
constant level.
[LEAK]: Used to release the vacuum to the atmosphere or inject
inert gas.
This valve is set to [CLOSE] when shipped from the factory.
(5) Temperature
Controller
Used to control the heating table temperature.
(For details, See page 10.)
(6) Pressure Gauge
Indicates the pressure inside the bell jar.
(7) POWER Switch
This is the power switch for the BV-001 unit. Switching this ON
illuminates the lamp inside the power switch, illuminates the
temperature controller display, and starts controlling the temperature. It
also activates the cooling fan (9).
(8) Leak Port
Used to release the vacuum to the atmosphere or inject inert gas.
(9) Cooling Fan
Discharges heat from inside the instrument housing.
(10) Vacuum Port
Used to evacuate the bell jar.
(11) Fuse
Protects the instrument.
