(3)
Place the sample on the heating table and cover it with the bell jar.
(4)
Set the selector valve to [VACUUM] and use a vacuum pump or other means to evacuate the
bell jar.
•
When releasing the vacuum to the atmosphere or injecting inert gas after using the oven,
briefly set the selector valve to [CLOSE] before setting it to [LEAK].
< CAUTION >
*
Evaluating the bell jar with the heating table already hot could cause sudden vigorous boiling
or other phenomena with certain samples. Take extra care, as this can be very dangerous.
< Useful Advice >
No power supply is required to operate the selector valve. Therefore, some operations, such
as temporary storage of samples under reduced pressure or purging with inert gas,
described in (1) to (4) above, can be performed without power being supplied.
(5)
Check that the POWER switch is OFF. Then
connect the power plug to a 100 V
AC
grounded 3-pin power outlet.
If there is no grounded 3-pin power outlet,
use the outlet adaptor provided to connect to
a 2-pin power outlet. In this case, be sure to
connect the ground wire to a ground
terminal.
