7 Installation
7.1 Preconditions
7.1.1 Configuration password
You will need a password to allow you to configure the SENEC.Home Li as you progress through the installa-
tion. You can get this password from your distributor. Please ask your distributor for the password if he did not
give you it when he sold the SENEC.Home Li.
7.1.2 Access to the Internet
The end customer’s home network must have permanent access to the Internet. Only in this case will the
manufacturer’s guarantee of 10 years (also extendible to up to 16 years – guarantee conditions at
www.senec-
ies.com
) be valid. Permanent connection means that any Internet downtime must not last more than five min-
utes. Occasional reconnection or recurring disconnection after 24 hours with subsequent reconnection are
harmless.
The end customer’s router must also have a DHCP function, so as to be able to assign the SENEC.Home Li
an IP address.
The SENEC.Home Li already has an internal VPN router, which is required for configuration of the system, for
example. Further compatible extension devices therefore do not also require a VPN router.
Note!
Fritz.Box devices have the option of night-time shutdown.
You must deactivate this function on the end customer‘s system.
