13.3.5. Access Protection ( P )
ReadSMS/POP3 access protection is independent from the GSM port it is associated to. In other words,
even if the communication port is protected, ReadSMS feature will not specially be protected.
ReadSMS/POP3 has its
own independent access
protection configuration,
that can be activated

If ReadSMS protection is activated, a login is required in the incoming the SMS message or POP3 message.
The login is composed of the last 8 digits of telephone number of the mobile used to send the SMS and a
password.
To obtain the Password, the utility 'Password Generator' is needed (Start


From the Password utility, you define:
- the global code used in the RTU
- as NAME:
the last 8 numbers of the telephone number of the mobile which will be used
to send the SMS.
- as Access Level: Engineer (Level 3).
The resulting 'PASSWORD' must be used to login.
Syntax:

If needed, the Password must be declared first.
Acknowledgment (with code A) does not require password
