What to do in an emergency
6.2
The following cases constitute an emergency:
Vacuum supply failure (e.g. power failure
vacuum generation switches off). In this case, a built-
in reservoir maintains the partial vacuum for a short safety period (depends on the seal with the
workpiece surface).
Leakage (e.g.: detached hose)
Forces arising during a collision
The vacuum level falls into the red zone on the gauge (less than -0.6 bar) while a load is being
manipulated with the lifting device. This also applies for devices with a redundant design.
WARNING
Risk of injury due to reduction in the vacuum level in the event of a power
failure or vacuum generator failure
This can result in a crushing injury.
►
The operator must sound the alarm immediately in the event of danger.
►
Stay clear of the danger zone at all times.
►
If possible, set down the load safely.
Switching suction plates on and off
6.3
WARNING
Danger due to falling objects
If the required vacuum value is not reached or if the vacuum fails, parts may
fall and hit and injure people.
►
All activated suction plates must always rest fully on the workpiece
►
Only activate and deactivate suction plates when they are not bearing any
load, otherwise the vacuum could fail.
►
The permissible load per suction plate must not be exceeded.
