with the most significant bit (MSB).

Schematic Diagram for Contrast Adjustment
STN color and monochrome displays have a lower contrast ratio than TFT Displays. To compensate for
different environmental light conditions, a contrast adjustment circuit is necessary. For each display a
matching DC-DC-converter is required because there is neither a standard for voltage nor for the
polarity. The example below shows a simple schematic diagram for a negative voltage contrast
adjustment.
