5.- UPS IN PARALLEL.
5.1.- Predisposition of the system.
The installation of more than one UPS in parallel needs one or more than one distribution boards. The board type guarantees
different operating levels depending on the complexity of the adopted solution. Next, it is described the standard solution,
usually suggested, that guarantees the operability of the total system (fig.5.1).
It has been foreseen the cross section of all power supply cables of each equipment, the feedback cross section cable and
the battery protection.
Likewise, it is advisable to install a general bypass in the system, with a functional blocking. This blocking is needed to avoid
possible damages to the system.
The stated solution allows checking all the operations during the installation and maintenance periods of each equipment.
The general manual bypass allows isolating the complete system with no-interruption in the feeding of the loads.
The complexity of the system makes that the status of each UPS must be supervised through a remote panel or SNMP. See chapter1.2.4.
