Layer 2 Functional Specifications
10. DIFFSERV
Diffserv provides different services for packets based on source MAC address,
destination MAC address, VLAN ID, DSCP, source IP address, Destination IP
address, protocol, source TCP/UDP port number, and destination TCP/UDP port
number. Diffserv can meter a flow and provide different in-profile and out-profile
actions. In-profile actions include: drop, forward, modify DSCP, and UP. Out-
profile actions include: drop and modify DSCP. The meter rate supports 64kbps
up to 1,048,512 kbps and bucket sizes are 4k, 8k, 16k, 32k, and 64k. To filter
incoming packets, create a classifier, in-profile action, out-profile action and data
path; then bind them to a policy. The switch checks incoming packets against
policies one-by-one. If the packet doesn't meet any policy, it is forwarded. The
default behavior for all data packets is forwarding. The system supports maximum
128 policies and one port can bind multiple policies.
11. SNMP
The system supports SNMP v1/v2c/v3 and SNMP traps. SNMP can be disabled
within the switch. SNMP supports up to 50 user-name, 10 community, 50 group,
50 access, 10 context-name, 50 view-tree, 10 notify, 10 target-address, and 10
target-parameter entries. SNMP trap control supports Authentication Failure,
Link Up/Down Port, New Root, Topology Change, Cold Start, Warm Start, and
RMON Alarm. SNMP default agent's Engine ID is 0x80:00:08:1c:04:46:53 and the
default SNMP Context Name is default.
12. RMON
The system supports RMON (1, 2, 3, 9) group. The RMON ALARM is valid for OID
type integer, integer32, counter, counter32, gauge, gauge32, unsigned32, and
time ticks.
