SNMP Commands
SNMP-server access
Specifies access for SNMP protocol(s).
NOTE: You must first create a group using the SNMP group command to configure SNMP
server access along with a group.
v3 sec-model is the most secure security model as it allows packet encryption with a privacy
keyword.
Command Mode: Global Configuration
Syntax
[no] SNMP-server access <GroupName> sec-level { noAuthNoPriv |
authNoPriv | authPriv } sec-model {v1 | v2c | v3 } read-name <Name |
noview> write-name <Name | noview> notify-name <Name | noview> [context-

Description
■
<GroupName>
- Sets the group name string.
■
sec-level { noAuthNoPriv | authNoPriv | authPriv }
- Selects the
authentication and privacy settings. noAuthNoPriv disables this feature. authNoPriv
enables message digest (MD5) or Secure Hash Algorithm (SHA) packet authentication.
authPriv enables both authentication and privacy.

sec-model {v1 | v2c | v3 }
- Selects the security model version of the SNMP.
■
read-name <Name | noview>
- Sets the read name. A read view identifier.
■
write-name <Name | noview>
- Sets the write name. A write view identifier.
■
notify-name <Name | noview>
- Sets the notify name. A notification view
identifier.
■
[context-name <Name>]
- Sets the context name. Name of the SNMP context.
■
no SNMP-server access
- Disables group access for SNMP protocols.
