Before You Begin
Decide How You Will Supply Power to the Access Point
CAUTION:
Make sure that you form a 3”-5” drip loop in any cable that is attached to the
AP. This will prevent water from running along the cable and entering the AP or the building
where the cable terminates.
CAUTION:
Be sure that grounding is available and that it meets local and national
electrical codes. For additional lightning protection, use lightning rods and lightning
arrestors.

Make sure that proper lightning surge protection precautions are taken
according to local electrical code.
Decide How You Will Supply Power to the Access
Point
The AP can be powered using either AC power or Power over Ethernet (PoE). An AC cable
is supplied with the AP. If you want to use PoE to power the AP, you may purchase the
Ruckus Wireless PoE injector (part number 902-0180-XX00, where XX is the country code)
separately.
