ROYAL ENFIELD 650 TWIN SERVICE TRAINING MANUAL

ENGINE MOUNTING INTO FRAME

COMPONENTS ASSEMBLY SEQUENCE TO ASSEMBLE ENGINE INTO FRAME

Assemble cradle frame to engine using four

mounting bolts

Support engine with cradle frame assembly

and position into main frame from LH side

Align cradle frame with main frame mounting

holes and locate front and rear mounting bolts

Position engine steady bracket LH and RH on

engine rear top and tighten with bolts & check

nut tight 3Nm (turn clockwise with special tool).

Centralize engine to rear frame, top and center

mountings and tighten adjusters using special tools

Assemble rear chain on FD sprocket & Fix FD

sprocket cover

Assemble gear position indicator sensor with

bracket on engine LH side

Connect Magneto / Side stand switch

connectors to wiring harness

Assemble starter motor and wiring connections

Align steady bracket mounting holes to frame

and tighten with qty. 2 nos. bolts.

Assemble washers and nuts on mounting

bolts and tighten cradle frame to main frame

torque 50 Nm & 25 Nm allen bolts.

Connect wire terminal to oil pressure switch 8B

Assemble gear shift linkage to gear shaft

(applicable to Interceptor 650 only)

Rear sprocket chain fixing & tighten wheel

spindle nut after adjusting chain play

Connect breather hose between the breather

box and air filter box

Locate spark plug suppressor caps on LH and

RH spark plugs

Connect hose to SAI ‘T’ pipe

Assemble LH and RH exhaust pipe and silencer 11A

Connect Hego/Oxygen sensor connectors to

main wiring harness

Assemble engine oil drain bolt

Assemble oil filter catridge

13

Assemble oil cooler inlet and outlet pipes to engine 14A

Assemble oil cooler on frame

Fill engine oil

14C

Connect clutch cable, fix & adjust free play

Connect fuel level gauge coupler

Connect fuel feed hose (fuel pump to

injector) Common rail

Connect fuel pump wire connector to wiring

harness

Position fuel tank on frame and fix it

Position  battery  in  carrier  and  connect

positive  (+)  and  negative  (-)  terminals.

(Ensure ignition and stop switches are in OFF

position before connecting battery cables)

Assemble side panel LH and RH

Assemble seat

Connect EVAP and drain hoses to fuel tank 16D
