ENGINE ASSEMBLY INTO FRAME
SEQUENCES
MAIN FRAME ASSEMBLY
1. Ensure the frame adjusters are wound fully into
the frame bosses to maximise assembly clearance.
2. Align the main fame over the engine from the rear
of the engine.
- To aidfitment, first align the lower rear
crankscase mountand inset this bolt, then
rotate the frame forwards over the engine.
3. Insert the lower and upper rear crankcase mount
bolts from the left-hand side of the motorcycle.
4. Adjust the lower rear frame adjuster.
5. Adjust the upper rear frame adjuster.
6. Add the thick washers and nuts to the ends of the
lower and upper rear crankcase mount bolts -
loose assemble the nuts.
7. Fit the cyclinder head steady brackets to the frame
bosses - loose assembly the bolts.
8. Insert the cylinder head mount bolt from the left-
hand side of the motorcycle, including the thick
washer under the bolt head.
9. Add the thick washer and nut to the end of the
cylinder head mount bolt - loose assemble the nut.
10. Tighten the cylinder head steady bracket bolts
into the frame.
11. Tighten the lower rear crankcase mount bolt / nut.
12. Tighten the upper rear crankcase mount bolt / nut.
13. Tighten the cylinder head mount bolt / nut.
CRADLE ASSEMBLY
1. Align the fame cradles to the frame.
2. Loose assemble the frame cradle bolts to the
frame with the nut plates.
3. Insert the upper front crankcase mount boly from
the right-hand side of the motorcycle, including
the thick washer under the bolt head.
4. Add the chick washer and nut to the end of the
upper front crankcase mount bolt - loose
assemble the nut.
5. Insert the lower front crankcase mount bolts from
the outside of the motorcycle, including the thick
washers under the bolt heads.
6. Add the thick washers and nuts to the end of the
lower front crankcase mount bolts - loose
assemble the nuts.
7. Tighten the frame cradle bolts.
8. Tighten the upper front crankcase mount bolt /
nut.
9. Tighten the lower front crankcase mount bolts /
nuts.
ADDITIONAL NOTES
Oversize holes and slots have been included to ensure
the bolts will all insert easily if following the steps
above.
On extremely rare occasions, if every part is at worst
case tolerance, then the front crankcase mount bolts
may not insert easily at steps 3and 5 of the cradle
sequence. If this happens :
Loosen the fixing tightened in steps 10, 11, 12 & 13
in the main frame sequence.
Steps 3 to 6 in the cradle sequence will then be
possible.
Then repeat steps 10 to 13 of the main frame
sequence before completing steps 7 to 9 of the
cradle sequence.
