Types of installation
INSTALLATION IN NETWORK MODE
Installation in network mode uses the mains voltage to power the transformer and the batteries, merely
to ensure operation in the event of a blackout (backup operation). As an exception, if one of the FLEX60...
FLEX90 modes is activated, battery operation will continue, even when the mains is present, until the
selected discharge is reached (60% ... 90%).
One or two photovoltaic panels can be installed to recharge the batteries, as the sole source of energy
(GREEN MODE ON) or to support the voltage supplied by the transformer. In this type of installation, if
GREENMODE OFF or ON, as the batteries are only used when there is no mains voltage (buffer), the limit
on the minimum panel power is 20W. If one of the FLEX modes is used, it is convenient to use more

Connect the control unit power supply to the OUT1 (B71/PBX24/BOX) or OUT1/OUT2 (B71/PBX36/BOX)
terminal, isolating the transformer in the automation.
INSTALLATION IN FULL-SOLAR MODE
Installation in full-solar mode uses only the photovoltaic panels to guarantee energy for charging the
batteries. With this type of installation, the choice of the panel (quality, nominal power) is crucial, along
with the respect of the minimum panel power value.
Connect the control unit power supply to the OUT1 (24V batteries) or OUT1/OUT2 (36V batteries)
terminal.
In both types of installation, the batteries will only be operational after a full charge cycle. To achieve
correct charge management, the batteries must remain connected to the B71/PBX. Otherwise, wait for
the end of a charging cycle to consider the battery status information given by B71/PBX as reliable.

1) Selection of the voltage range 24V / 36V (with batteries not connected)

7) Quickly make the selection indicated in point 5 if this hasn't already been done
At this point, underneath the Roger logo in the presentation graphics on the LCD display you should see
model B71/PBX24 (if the batteries are 24V ) or B71/PBX36 (with 36V batteries).
