CHAPTER 7
Configuring License Keys
After you install and configure the Enterprise NetProfiler management network access, you must configure the product
licenses. This chapter describes:
“Configure Automatic licensing” on page 33
“Perform Manual licensing” on page 34
Configure Automatic licensing
You can setup automatic licensing if Enterprise NetProfiler has Internet access and DNS configured. Consider the
following limitations: when you setup automatic licensing:
You are licensing only one Enterprise NetProfiler, or
You are licensing multiple Enterprise NetProfiler appliances that all have the same features and capacities.
Note:
If you are licensing multiple Enterprise NetProfiler appliances to run with different features or capacities, navigate to the
Riverbed licensing web site and assign the licenses to the serial numbers of the products.
To license a single Enterprise NetProfiler that has Internet access, you do not need to log on to the licensing website.
Instead, you must confirm that the licenses are active.
Follow these steps
:
1.
Log in to the Enterprise NetProfiler web user interface “admin” account.
2.
Go to the
Configuration
,
Licenses
page and check the License Key column.
If the License Key column lists a “Flows Per Minute” license key, then NetProfiler has downloaded its licenses
from the licensing web site and you can proceed with installation verification.
If there are no “Flows Per Minute” license key listed, then NetProfiler has not downloaded its license keys.

If the license keys are not listed, click
Fetch Updates Now
.
The license keys appear within a few minutes.
