(11) Tighten the bag nut of the coupler (S-1, 2, 5) by hand completely until the base of the nut head.
The cylinder will not operate smoothly if a gap exists as shown in the illustration below. When
the coupler of the pull side is not completely connected during the use of a double-acting
cylinder, unallowable excessive pressure will be generated in the pull side when exerting
pressure on the push side. This causes damage to or dispersion of the coupler, cylinder, or high
pressure hose, and may result in serious bodily injury.
(12) Do not apply the oil to the tank with the cylinder piston extended. The oil might flow out from
the tank when the piston intends, it occurs to the tank damage or personal injury.
(13) If oil enters the eye, thoroughly flush the eye with sterile water immediately for at least 15
minutes before consulting a doctor. Also, if oil contacts the skin, wash thoroughly with water
and soap.
(14) The high pressure hose is a consumable item. Even if the hose exterior appears to be in good
condition, it is possible internal damage such as pin holes have been used combined with
specific application conditions. This might mean replacing the hose even if the life span has
not fully expired. Contact RIKEN or RIKEN
’s authorized agents if any problem or question.
(1) Do not adjust the low pressure safety valve for safety.
(2) Do not apply additional pressure when the piston rod is fully extended.
(3) The structure of ROC-type, VC-type couplers is different from S-

of page 12 b) occurs to malfunction of equipment. Be sure not to press ROC-type, VC-type
couplers strongly, it might disturb oil flow.
(4) Use ISO VG32 hydraulic working oil only. Phosphate ester, water-glycol and w/o
emersion oil should not be used. The packing seal occurs to deteriorate and the equipment
will be failure. Consult RIKEN or RIKEN's authorized agents if use of these oils required.
(5) Waste oil generated by the pump is classified as an
“Industrial Waste Product”. Consult the
local regulatory agencies and dispose of the oil through a licensed industrial waste collection
agency or industrial waste processing agency.
