（５） ＳＭＰ−３０ＢＲ、ＳＭＰ−４０ＢＲ
A single-acting cylinder is operated using the direction control (manual 3-way valve). Pressure can also
be finely adjusted by means of an external relief valve. Pressure hold is also possible.
<Method for Adjusting Pressure with the External Relief Valve (PRV)>
1) Attach the hose or cylinder to the discharge outlet.
2) Attach the pressure gauge to the gauge attachment opening.
3) Open the air valve.
4) Unlock the valve adjustment handle & turn it all the way back in a
counter-clockwise direction.
5) Turn on the operation switch and start the motor.
6) While looking at the pressure gauge, slowly turn the adjustment
handle clockwise until the gauge indicates the desired pressure.
7) Run the pump 2 or 3 times to confirm the set pressure level then relock the adjusting handle by
tightening the lock nut.
Example of Use: For a single-acting cylinder (spring return):
Connect the high pressure hose and cylinder as shown.
1) Open the air valve.
2) Loosen the lever of the direction control valve by turning it in a
counter-clockwise direction.
3) Turn on the operation switch to start the motor.
4) Turn the lever of the direction control valve in a clockwise direction
and tighten by hand. The piston of the cylinder extends, pressure
rises and the operation will be performed.
5) Pressure will rise to the pressure set on the external pressure relief valve (PRV),
Do not allow the pump to run longer than 1 minute with oil flowing over the PRV.
6) When the operation switch is turned off, the motor stops, holding pressure and
maintaining the cylinder piston at the stroke position reached.
7) To retract the piston of the cylinder, turn the level of the direction control valve
in a counter-clockwise direction and tighten.
8) When operation is complete, retracts the cylinder, turns off the operational switch
and stops the motor.
9) Close the air valve.
*If a malfunction occurs, immediately turn off the operation switch and stop the motor.
Adjustment Handle
* The pressure setting for the external relief valve should be 70 MPa or less.
Do not touch any areas other then the adjustment handle.
